The Labrador Inn is seeking a dedicated Maintenance Worker to ensure the upkeep and functionality of our facilities. This role is essential in maintaining a welcoming environment for our guests.
Qualifications- Education: Completion of secondary (high) school graduation certificate is required.
- Experience: A minimum of 1 year and up to 2 years of relevant experience is preferred.
- Ability to work in all weather conditions.
- Position is based in a hotel, motel, or resort environment.
- Perform cleaning tasks including sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, and waxing floors and hallways.
- Utilize industrial vacuum cleaners to clear debris and refuse.
- Manage waste disposal by emptying trash cans and containers.
- Maintain cleanliness of windows, walls, and ceilings.
- Conduct minor repairs and adjustments on heating, cooling, ventilation, plumbing, and electrical systems.
- Oversee the advertisement of vacancies and balance rent rolls.
- Coordinate with contractors for maintenance and repair tasks.
- Supervise and guide other maintenance staff.
- Execute routine maintenance tasks such as painting and drywall repairs.
- Care for plants, lawns, and gardens.
- Ensure bathrooms and fixtures are cleaned and disinfected.
- Work independently with minimal supervision.
- Clear snow and ice from walkways and parking areas.
- Engage in repetitive tasks and handle heavy loads.
- Perform physically demanding duties, including bending, crouching, and kneeling.
- Capable of lifting up to 13.5 kg (30 lbs).
