Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Lead Web GIS Engineer to spearhead the design and execution of our web-based GIS solutions. The ideal candidate will possess extensive knowledge of GIS frameworks, web programming, and spatial data manipulation. This position demands exceptional technical skills, leadership qualities, and a commitment to pioneering advancements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the architecture, development, and upkeep of web-based GIS platforms.
- Create tailored GIS applications and tools to fulfill unique project demands.
- Integrate and oversee spatial datasets from diverse origins and formats.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including software engineers, data analysts, and project coordinators, to produce top-tier GIS solutions.
- Guarantee the scalability, efficiency, and security of GIS platforms.
- Conduct code evaluations and mentor junior engineers.
- Remain updated with the latest trends in GIS technology and industry standards.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or master's degree in Geography, Computer Science, Geospatial Science, or a related discipline.
- Demonstrated experience in creating web-based GIS platforms, including technologies such as Leaflet, Mapbox, and/or ArcGIS Maps SDK for JavaScript.
- Expertise in web development languages such as HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and relevant frameworks (e.g., React, Angular).
- Comprehensive understanding of GIS technologies and tools, including ESRI ArcGIS, QGIS, and open-source GIS libraries.
- Familiarity with spatial databases (e.g., PostgreSQL).
- Strong analytical skills and meticulous attention to detail.
- Excellent communication abilities and capacity to work collaboratively in a team setting.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with cloud-based GIS solutions and services (e.g., AWS, Azure).
- Understanding of machine learning and AI applications in geospatial analysis.
