About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Route Driver to join our team at Lindsay Cleaners and Dyers. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for delivering and picking up messages, parcels, and other items by hand, as well as operating and driving automobiles, vans, and light trucks to pick up and deliver various items and products.

Key Responsibilities
  • Customer Service: Provide exceptional customer service to our clients, ensuring that all interactions are professional and courteous.
  • Delivery and Pick-up: Deliver and pick up messages, parcels, and other items by hand, ensuring timely and efficient service.
  • Vehicle Operations: Operate and drive automobiles, vans, and light trucks to pick up and deliver various items and products, adhering to all safety and regulatory requirements.
  • Payment and Invoicing: Accept payment or invoices for items delivered, ensuring accurate and timely processing.
  • Communication: Receive and relay information to central dispatch, ensuring seamless communication and coordination.
  • Record Keeping: Keep a record of items received and delivered, maintaining accurate and up-to-date records.
  • Loading and Unloading: Load and unload goods, ensuring safe and efficient handling.
  • Package Sorting: Sort packages for delivery, prioritizing efficiency and accuracy.
  • Payment Processing: Pay and receive payments for goods, adhering to all financial and regulatory requirements.
  • Customer Interaction: Provide customer service, responding to inquiries and resolving issues in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Vehicle Maintenance: Perform pre-trip, en route, and post-trip inspections, ensuring the vehicle is in good working condition and adhering to all safety and regulatory requirements.
Requirements
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent.
  • Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a related field or equivalent experience.
  • Transportation/Travel Experience: Local transportation and travel experience.
  • Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Physically demanding work environment, requiring attention to detail and ability to lift up to 23 kg (50 lbs).
  • Personal Suitability: Client focus, efficient interpersonal skills, flexibility, judgement, organized, reliability, team player, accurate, dependability, excellent oral communication, and punctuality.
