Position Overview

Join our team at Northstar Organics as an Agricultural Labor Specialist. This role is essential in supporting our farming operations and ensuring the quality of our produce.

Education Requirements
  • No degree, certificate, or diploma required.
Work Environment

Our work site is primarily focused on fruit and vegetable combination farming. Staff accommodation is available in a rural setting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Sort and grade fruits and vegetables based on size, shape, color, and volume to maximize market value.
  • Engage in hand harvesting of various crops.
  • Assist in planting, cultivating, and irrigating crops.
  • Perform weeding and harvesting tasks.
  • Load, unload, and transfer crates, supplies, and farm produce, including livestock and poultry.
  • Operate and maintain agricultural machinery and equipment.
  • Carry out general farm duties as needed.
  • Adhere to farm safety and bio-security protocols.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to perform repetitive tasks.
  • Capable of handling heavy loads.
  • Must be physically fit and able to meet the demands of the job.
Weight Handling

Must be able to lift up to 23 kg (50 lbs).

Personal Attributes

We are looking for a team player who can work collaboratively with others.

Experience
  • Previous experience in a similar role is considered an asset.
Employment Duration

This is a seasonal position.

Language Requirements

Work will be conducted in English.

Working Hours

Expect to work between 40 to 60 hours per week.
