Job Title: Customs Broker

We are excited to announce a new position for a Customs Broker at CB Canada. In this role, you will leverage your extensive expertise in entry documentation and classification, engage in customs clearance processes with regulatory bodies, and ensure compliance with customs laws.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Draft and submit customs declarations and manage freight forwarding to specified destinations, collaborating with both international and domestic carriers, overseas offices, and importers.
  • Guarantee a precise and prompt customs clearance procedure for all entries processed.
  • Address any documentation inconsistencies with clients and management.
  • Oversee the delivery of goods to the appropriate locations.
  • Resolve financial discrepancies and accounting reconciliation issues.
  • Input entries into the imaging system within designated timeframes.
  • Generate reports, presentations, and analyses utilizing various software tools and databases.
  • Follow up on documentation issues, providing troubleshooting and effective communication with clients and foreign suppliers.
  • Establish and nurture relationships with clients.
  • Availability for weekend shifts on a rotational basis and holiday work as required by operational demands.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent qualification
  • A minimum of 2 years' experience in a customs brokerage role
  • In-depth knowledge of customs procedures, regulations, and interactions with government entities
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Preferred: Certification from a customs broker association
  • Quick and accurate data entry capabilities
  • Bilingual proficiency in French and English
  • Must be able to commute as required.
