We are seeking a highly skilled Cyber Security Specialist to join our team at EPCOR. As a key member of our security operations team, you will be responsible for providing advisory services and operational support to manage risk to our Information and Technology systems.
Key Responsibilities- Analyze and manage potential IS security incidents to ensure timely and effective response.
- Monitor security safeguards, events, and policy compliance in the Cloud and on premise, making corrective action to resolve issues and escalating complex concerns to the Operations Security Manager.
- Perform risk assessments and prepare recommendations to mitigate risks, providing subject matter expertise in Cloud and on premise security controls, principles, and best practices.
- Identify abnormalities and perform threat-hunting on potential IS Security Incidents, maintaining situational awareness regarding threats to EPCOR Utilities Inc. Information and Technology.
- Consult with clients and review processes to improve security safeguards and controls, developing and implementing playbooks, security standards, processes, and procedures.
- Manage and conduct Employee Cybersecurity Awareness Training Program, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
- University Degree or Technical Diploma in Computing Science or Computer Systems Technology, or equivalent combination of experience and training in a related field.
- 5+ years of directly related experience, currently possessing or pursuing an accredited Information Security Certification.
- Understanding of Security Management frameworks (ISO 27001 and 27002, NIST and Cobit) and related regulatory requirements.
- Strong understanding of vulnerability management methodologies, experience working with IS Operations Security Tools, and experience with building detection and correlation rules to enhance monitoring and alerting.
- Ability to recognize security risks and impacts, prepare risk assessments, and develop security infrastructure design, cost, and risk appropriate security safeguard recommendations.
