About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to join our team at Home Base Yellowknife as an Addictions Support Worker.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide support and guidance to individuals with addictions, focusing on education, experience, and personal growth.
  • Work in a youth drop-in centre and shelter for the homeless, promoting a safe and supportive environment.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement programs for at-risk youth, addressing their unique needs and challenges.
  • Conduct first aid and CPR training, ensuring the well-being of clients and staff.
  • Build relationships with clients, understanding their strengths and areas for improvement.
Requirements
  • No degree, certificate, or diploma required, but a strong passion for supporting individuals with addictions.
  • 7 months to less than 1 year of experience in a related field, with a focus on education and personal growth.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Criminal record check and driving record check (abstract) required.
  • Valid driver's licence and access to a vehicle.
