Meat Cutter

Reporting to the Food Store Manager, this role is responsible for cutting, preparing, and displaying all types of meat according to Department Operational Policies, Standards, and Guidelines.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide exceptional customer service and satisfaction to the Association standards, maintaining customer relations and communications.
- Present a neat, clean, fresh, well-merchandised department and related work areas, including the cutting room, coolers, freezers, receiving area, dock, and wash-up area.
- Be familiar with all lines of merchandise handled, preparing all meat requested by wrapper and scalers, and receiving and storing all meat as required.
- Ensure adequate variety and stocks of all meat-related products are displayed at all times.
- Maintain open lines of communication with all staff members.
- Assume Department Manager's responsibilities in their absence.
- Observe all safety measures in the department and security policies as outlined by the Association.
- Assist in the proper care and maintenance of all equipment pertaining to the department.
- Perform proper cleaning and sanitizing procedures as outlined in the department.
- Assist in stock taking as required.
- Retail meat cutting certificate from a recognized institution or equivalent knowledge and experience in retail meat cutting.
- Minimum one year meat cutting experience.
- Strong service orientation and motivation, with the ability to assist customers in a courteous and efficient manner.
- Well-organized and capable of attaining a high level of production with minimal supervision.
- Ability to work mornings, afternoons, evenings, and weekends.
A combination of relevant education and experience may be considered.
