About the Role

In the capacity of Associate, Finance Business Partner within the Office of the Chief Financial Officer, you will play a crucial role in providing financial guidance to clients. You will serve as a strategic partner, assisting clients in establishing robust financial processes that yield valuable insights for informed financial decision-making.

Key Responsibilities:

Foster meaningful relationships with clients and relevant stakeholders to understand the business landscape and facilitate finance-related tasks. Offer expertise in developing and executing forecasting processes that produce timely and detailed forecasts, utilizing appropriate techniques and tools; solutions often require innovative thinking and creative problem-solving. Conduct financial and impact analyses, along with financial modeling, to deliver insights and commentary, applying an understanding of operations to frame discussions using common business terminology and visual aids. Identify non-value-added processes and opportunities for improvement in areas such as costing, risk management, oversight, analysis, reporting, budgeting, controls, and financial model inputs and outputs. Champion the development of financial implications related to business strategies and policies by identifying emerging issues, trends, and opportunities, conducting research and analysis, and recommending solutions. Perform in-depth analysis of FTE consumption activities, forecast accuracy, and variances from actuals and planned amounts, contributing to the monitoring of FTE budgets against corporate appropriations and operating budgets. Formulate thoughtful financial recommendations based on proactive analysis, identified risks, and available opportunities for enhancement. Contribute to the establishment, implementation, standardization, and monitoring of financial performance indicators to ensure clients meet stakeholder expectations and achieve strategic objectives.

Qualifications:

An undergraduate degree in accounting, finance, business administration, economics, or commerce. A minimum of three (3) years' experience in finance, business analysis, and strategic support. Familiarity with relevant financial, legislative, and regulatory environments. Understanding of financial statements and general accounting principles. Excellent organizational skills to manage multiple ongoing projects. Strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills in both English and French. Demonstrated experience with various software applications and planning tools (e.g., Power BI, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.). Exceptional ability to gather and analyze information, synthesize key elements, and summarize recommendations.

Preferred Qualifications:

An MBA or professional designation (CA, CFA, CGA, CMA, CPA).
