Jardeg Construction Services Ltd. is seeking a Welder in their 2nd or 3rd year of apprenticeship to join the maintenance team at Suncor Fort Hills, located near Fort McMurray, Alberta. This is a temporary, full-time role following a 7 days on, 7 days off shift schedule.

As a Welder, you will be responsible for joining or severing metals in various structures, including beams, girders, vessels, piping, and other metal components. You will also create metal parts utilized in construction and manufacturing, as well as weld components, tools, machines, and equipment. Your role will involve developing patterns for projects or adhering to specifications provided in layouts, blueprints, and work orders. Additionally, you will clean, inspect for defects, and shape component parts, occasionally employing a cutting torch and welding components together.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop patterns for projects or adhere to specifications in layouts, blueprints, and work orders.

  • Weld components together.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Valid Apprenticeship Card
  • Common Safety Orientation (CSO) or BSO or OSSA Regional Orientation
  • Aerial Work Platform Certification
  • OSSA or Energy Safety Canada Certified Fall Arrest or Fall Protection
  • OSSA or Energy Safety Canada Certified Confined Space
  • Overhead Crane & Rigging Certification
  • Valid Driver's License and a clean 3-year Driver's Abstract
