Mucci Farms is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Procurement Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our purchasing department, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining strategic sourcing documents, acquiring market intelligence, and managing supplier relationships to maximize long-term Total Cost of Ownership and minimize business risk.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and maintain strategic sourcing documents and acquire in-depth subject matter expertise and market intelligence for category.
- Manage, develop, and nurture supplier relationships to maximize long-term Total Cost of Ownership and minimize business risk.
- Apply experience to identify problems and find creative solutions to meet customer demands.
- Ensure timely, accurate entry and confirmation of purchase orders to support assigned duties.
- Expedite Purchase Orders as required to meet stakeholder requirements and timelines.
- Oversee Direct and Indirect Spend categories which include Corrugate, Resin (Trays, Films, Bags), Labels, MRO, Services and Capex supplies.
- Build RFQ's, search suppliers; issue and award BIDs in order to provide the best cost benefit to the company.
- Prepare and present reports regarding market conditions and organizational spend to Senior Management.
- Analyze inventories to determine how to increase inventory flow, reduce waste and develop appropriate min/max levels.
- Ensures storage and inventory control are performed in an efficient manner.
- Update Purchasing and Inventory Manager on any current or foreseeable inventory issues.
- Accurately track and monitor all open purchase orders, ensuring pricing, quantity and ship dates are held.
- Analyze inventories to determine how to increase inventory flow, reduce waste and develop appropriate safety stock levels.
- Work with cross functional teams and assist the Inventory Control team with maintaining proper inventory levels.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a Senior Buyer/Intermediate role.
- Strong ability to negotiate with Suppliers.
- Must have strong time management skills with an emphasis on meeting deadlines.
- Highly energetic and assertive with strong leadership skills.
- Experience in leading and managing a team.
- Advanced MS Office skills (Excel).
- Excellent, interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
- Must be able to sit, stand, and/or walk for extended periods of time.
- Must be able to bend, stretch, twist, or reach with body, arms, and/or legs.
- Must be able to lift material regularly up to 14 kg / 30 lbs; and occasionally up to 23 kg / 50lbs.
- Must be able to climb stairs and stand on feet for an extended period of time.
- Must be able to work in a temperature-controlled environment of approximately 13 ̊C / 55 ̊F.
- The incumbent will be committed to customer service excellence and leading by example.
- A positive attitude in the workplace is required as is the ability to adhere to all human resources, operational and food and health safety policies and procedures.
