Hazardous Materials
Location: Kenora, ON
We are seeking an Environmental Project Specialist to enhance our Hazardous Materials division. This role involves conducting thorough assessments of worker exposure and workplace conditions, performing safety inspections, and executing audits. You will play a key role in creating various health and safety documentation, preparing detailed technical reports, and collaborating with clients to meet their objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct site assessments for hazardous materials including asbestos, mould, mercury, PCBs, and lead.
- Perform fieldwork, including site visits and oversight of remediation efforts.
- Coordinate and manage subcontractors effectively.
- Analyze and interpret sample results in accordance with regulatory standards and industry guidelines.
- Prepare comprehensive technical reports.
- Efficiently manage project timelines and deliverables.
- Engage with clients and subcontractors to address health, safety, and hygiene requirements.
- Foster and maintain positive relationships with clients.
Qualifications:
- Entry-level to two years of relevant experience.
- Experience in Hazardous Materials, Indoor Environmental Quality, and Occupational Health and Safety is advantageous.
- Post-secondary education in a related field is preferred.
- Relevant certifications such as C.E.T. are considered beneficial.
- Understanding of environmental and health and safety regulations.
- Familiarity with building systems including structure, envelope, HVAC, electrical, and plumbing is a plus.
- Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings is advantageous.
- Experience with environmental monitoring tools is beneficial.
- Strong organizational and communication skills with attention to detail.
- Proficient in technical report writing.
- Skilled in Microsoft Office applications.
- Willingness to work outside standard business hours and on a rotational weekend basis.
- A valid driver's license and vehicle are required for travel within the designated area.
