Job Summary

We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Spiritual Health Practitioner to join our team at Providence Health Care. As a key member of our interdisciplinary team, you will provide comprehensive spiritual care and emotional support to patients, families, and healthcare staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess and provide spiritual and emotional support to patients, families, and staff through counseling and supportive presence.
  • Promote the spiritual well-being of patients and residents through listening, prayer, and group support.
  • Collaborate with spiritual/cultural representatives and clergy in the community to provide spiritual care.
  • Provide spiritual and emotional support to staff during times of crisis.
  • Mentor and support volunteer visitors who provide ministry to patients and residents.
  • Support patients, residents, and their families who are considering or engaged in the MAiD process.
  • Participate in sharing on-call and/or back-up on-call duties, as required.
Requirements
  • Master's degree in Theology, Public and Pastoral Leadership, Spiritual Practices, or other relevant theological/spiritual studies.
  • Minimum of one advanced unit of Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE), preferably two advanced units.
  • Two years of direct or related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
  • Certified Spiritual Care Practitioner with CASC/ACSS or committed to achieving certification within two years.
