·Develops and oversees operational protocols for processes such as verifying incoming and outgoing shipments, managing materials, and maintaining accurate inventory levels in the warehouse/distribution center.
·Ensures that the physical state of the warehouse and its equipment are consistently upheld.
·Submits work orders for repairs and requests for equipment replacements to the designated personnel.
·Collaborates with various departments to ensure seamless coordination of warehouse operations with customer service and sales functions.
·Engages with customers to uphold a high standard of satisfaction by maintaining regular communication and addressing any concerns or requests.
·Guarantees safe warehouse operations by adhering to company standards for cleanliness, maintenance, safety, and security.
·Strives for operational excellence across all warehouse sectors, related equipment, and warehouse management systems.
·Leads efficient operations while effectively overcoming obstacles to success.
·Works alongside engineering teams to design and maintain optimal warehouse layouts and product placements.
·Monitors and ensures that key performance indicators (KPIs) for the facility are achieved in a timely and cost-effective manner to enhance profitability and productivity.
·Ensures sufficient staffing, training, coaching, and development opportunities for all employees.
·Reports employee hours to Payroll on a weekly basis.
·Provides hands-on management of the distribution center, including interviewing, hiring, and training supervisory and hourly staff; planning, assigning, and directing work; and evaluating performance to foster a strong company culture.
·Ensures compliance with applicable regulatory certifications such as CTPAT, ISO, AIB, and others.
·Effectively manages the operational budget and profit & loss statements.
·Addresses and resolves complaints and issues as they arise.
·Performs additional duties as required and assigned.
Qualifications:
· Afternoon Shift (3:00 pm-11:30 pm, Sunday- Thursday)
·Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year institution.
·A minimum of 3 to 5 years of relevant experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
·Familiarity with warehouse management systems is preferred.
·Experience with labor management systems and productivity initiatives is preferred.
·Lean certifications are a plus.
·Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
·Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business publications, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
·Capable of writing reports, business correspondence, and procedural manuals.
·Ability to effectively present information and respond to inquiries from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
·Ability to solve practical problems and address a variety of concrete variables in situations with limited standardization.
·Ability to interpret a variety of instructions in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to use hands for handling and manipulation. The employee frequently stands, reaches with hands and arms, and may occasionally lift and/or move items weighing up to 50 pounds. The employee may be exposed to moving mechanical parts and vehicles, as well as extreme temperatures, including conditions consistent with outdoor weather.
