Job Title: Senior Software Developer

Telesat is seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Developer to join our team in Ottawa, Canada. As a Senior Software Developer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, testing, and maintaining the Telesat Lightspeed System Model, a state-of-the-art suite of engineering software tools running on high-performance computing (HPC) infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop software tools and scripts to test the System Model codebase and microservice ecosystem.
  • Collaborate with the development team to understand software requirements and design test strategies.
  • Build and maintain automated test frameworks and infrastructure using GitLab, Git Runners, and Slurm-based HPC resources.
  • Develop and execute comprehensive test plans, test cases, and continuous integration for the System Model suite within varied software development environments.
  • Perform various types of testing, including functional, regression, performance, and scalability testing, to ensure code quality.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
  • ~5-9 years of relevant experience in software development and testing.
  • Experience in Python and/or Java programming language.
  • Experience working with multiple test automation tools and frameworks such as Selenium Web Driver, Katalon, Watir, Cucumber, and others.
  • Extensive experience with GitLab for version control and CI/CD processes and Git Runners for test automation.
  • Solid understanding of Linux environments and command-line tools.
  • Experience with Linux clusters and cluster job managers.
  • Experience with agile development.
