About the Role:

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Merchandise Processor at Talize. As a key member of our operations team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth processing and organization of merchandise in our warehouse.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Merchandise Processing: Offload donated merchandise and organize it in designated bins, ensuring accurate and efficient processing.
  • Inventory Management: Weigh and label merchandise, maintaining accurate records and monitoring inventory levels.
  • Warehouse Maintenance: Monitor garbage levels and operate the compactor as needed, maintaining a clean and safe work environment.
  • Stock Replenishment: Check stock levels and replenish bins as necessary, ensuring a smooth flow of merchandise.
  • Disposal and Transfer: Dispose of unsellable merchandise and hazardous materials, and transfer items between departments as required.

Health and Safety:

  • Workplace Safety: Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to safety guidelines to prevent theft and accidents.
  • Incident Reporting: Promptly report any hazards or incidents to management, ensuring a safe working environment.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Data Entry: Input data into our system to monitor inventory levels and track merchandise movement.
  • Event Support: Assist in organizing sale events and other warehouse activities as required.

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Experience: Minimum 1 year of experience in a warehouse environment, with a strong understanding of inventory management and processing procedures.
  • Operational Skills: Forklift or compactor operation experience is an asset, but not required.

  • Physical Strength and Endurance: Ability to stand and walk throughout the shift, with repetitive bending and reaching.
  • Organizational Skills: Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks effectively.

  • Physical Demands: Ability to lift and carry items up to 50lbs, with exposure to dust and noise.
  • Varied Shifts: Willingness to work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays, with a focus on flexibility and adaptability.
