Electrical Control Systems Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Electrical Control Systems Specialist to design, develop, and implement electrical control systems for our projects.

This role requires close collaboration with Project Managers, Mechanical Engineers, and Designers to assess project requirements, review customer specifications, and create detailed electrical drawings and testing procedures.

Responsibilities:

  • Assess project requirements by collaborating with Project Managers and/or Mechanical Engineer/Designer to review client specifications and drawings.
  • Outline and perform testing procedures based on project requirements using software, adhering to safety requirements and highlighting safety guidelines for the project team.
  • Collaborate with Project Managers, Head of Engineering, Mechanical Engineer, and/or Designer to determine the most efficient and cost-effective method of constructing the product.
  • Follow project roadmaps and milestones to ensure timely delivery to clients, communicating openly with Project Managers when concerns arise.
  • Address problems or potential problems with the Head of Engineering, along with potential solutions/options.
  • Research and identify suitable and cost-effective materials to meet project requirements, creating a Bill of Material (BOM) for Manager approval.
  • Liaise with suppliers to gather information on materials/components or explore alternative options that are more cost-effective or suitable for product functionality.
  • Draft electrical schematics drawings to capture all elements and material requirements for assembly/wiring, reviewing with Project Lead to confirm all aspects of the project.
  • Collaborate with Project Lead to update drawings to reflect client feedback, resubmitting for approval.
  • Communicate instructions to Technician Teams in a clear and concise manner, providing additional clarification throughout the assembly process.
  • Develop controls programs for machine/product logic control, PLC, HMI, PC, and other auxiliary components.
  • Troubleshoot production and testing issues related to product functionality and material.
  • Support the sales team for sales meetings with current and/or potential clients, in line with other responsibilities.
  • Participate in product installation on client sites, troubleshooting and addressing electrical issues/concerns during and after installation.
  • Familiarize and maintain up-to-date knowledge of local safety and electrical standards.
  • Familiarize and maintain working knowledge of company software and hardware.
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Control Systems Engineering, or a related field.
  • Certifications in PLC programming, HMI development, or other relevant areas would be beneficial.

Required Skills:

  • Three to five years of experience in a similar position and industry.
  • Demonstrated experience using Office Suite, Electrical Design Software.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of electrical engineering fundamentals, design principles, and codes.
  • Experience in developing and designing packaging machinery, robotic-based automation cells, conveyor systems.
  • Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent attention to quality, accuracy, and detail-oriented.
  • A proven ability to work under and achieve tight deadlines.
  • Solid verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to understand and translate complex technical information into easy-to-read user documents.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to build collaborative relationships with others, with demonstrated experience as a team player.
  • Able to travel to client sites.
