About the Role
We are recruiting for a Security and Healthcare Technology Specialist to join our Subject Matter Expert team in the Security and Healthcare Technology division. This team is based in a dynamic and growing region. Here's how your role will strengthen our team.
Your Responsibilities
- Work remotely and on customer sites for the installation, design, assembly, servicing, troubleshooting, and maintenance of various electronic systems, including but not limited to: Nurse Call, RTLS, Audio, Video, Paging, Intercom, Security/Access Control, Telecommunication, and Video Surveillance.
- Act as a subject matter expert resource for project managers to assist with technical difficulties or issues.
- Inspect potential project sites and provide accurate estimation of required equipment and time.
- Maintain and complete accurate as-builts and all system documentation for projects.
- Train end users on the operations of provided systems.
- Develop and implement solutions to resolve interfacing or intercommunication problems between disparate systems.
- Commission and configure hardware and software for deployment/installation.
- Create and provide internal technical training resources and sessions for Houle team members.
Your Experience and Skills
- Training in security/healthcare systems and products, including access control, CCTV, and intrusion detection or related fields.
- Certification in at least one of the following platforms: Genetec, Kantech, Lenel, Milestone, Ascom Telligence, GuardRFID, or Sonitor.
- Minimum 1-3 years working in a similar role, with technical expertise in related systems. Electronics background also an asset.
- Experience with integration and middleware engines in the security/healthcare product space an asset.
- Familiarity with SNMP, BACNET IP, MODBUS, and other platform-agnostic messaging protocols an asset.
- Knowledge of various programming and computer languages, including C#, Python, and T-SQL an asset.
- Knowledge of web-based technologies, protocols, and languages/mechanisms, including API, REST, SOAP, HTTP/HTTPS, ISS, Web servers, JSON, XML, and SQL an asset.
- Knowledge of various networking protocols and technologies.
- Ability to work in various government institutions and willingness to travel and work in other regions for short periods of time.
