About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Business Solutions Analyst to join our team at Intact. As a Senior Business Solutions Analyst, you will work closely with our Finance User teams across Canada to clarify business needs during national projects or small user queries.
Key Responsibilities
- Participate in requirements gathering sessions with business and/or technical experts to understand business needs and develop solutions.
- Collaborate with senior business analysts in working sessions to solve for data flow improvements or updates.
- Support a cross-functional team to document end-to-end solutioning that meets the business requirements.
- Participate in the preparation of design documents to executives and IT experts that focuses on how the data will flow and be transformed throughout the finance ecosystem.
- Track progress, list work to be done, and meet timelines.
- Support the validation team in preparing test data.
- Perform and support users' acceptance testing.
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a business analyst role for finance teams and/or financial systems.
- Studies/minor in finance or accounting is considered an asset.
- Excellent communication skills in gathering clear and complete requirements and in synthesizing and presenting to colleagues.
- Basic knowledge of financial, IT, database systems, and technologies (Data Warehouses, SQL, SAS, ERP systems like Oracle, SAP, etc.).
- Proficiency in the use of Office 365, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio.
- Advanced Excel (lookups, pivots, complex formulas, and functions).
- Understanding of ETL principles, data elements, data structures, and data modeling is considered an asset.
- Knowledge of Jira, Confluence, an ETL tool, and a RDBMS (e.g., Toad, MS SQL server) is considered an asset.
- CPA Designation and IFRS17 experience is an asset.
- Knowledge of P&C insurance industry is an asset.
- Can work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Can learn quickly.
- Good analytical skills, insight, and discipline.
- Team player, independent, and efficient.
- No Canadian work experience required, however, must be eligible to work in Canada.
- For candidates located in Quebec, bilingualism is required considering the necessity to interact on a regular basis with English-speaking colleagues across the country.
