Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Finish Painter to join our paint shop team at New Flyer. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for a variety of painting functions, including spraying, mixing, polishing, and operating painting equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Paint, decant, verify, stock, and finish paint vehicles.
  • Review and interpret blueprints to identify proper paint colors and areas of application.
  • Complete minor fibreglass repairs.
  • Mix Axalta paint using activator and primer.
  • Spray paint on large areas using a 1-quart gravity feed spray gun and/or a 2-quart siphon feed spray gun.
  • Maintain spray guns and painting equipment through proper cleaning procedures.
  • Utilize painting techniques to achieve desired results.
  • Adhere to safety procedures as they apply to all equipment used in this position.
Requirements
  • Previous automotive painting experience is required.
  • Proven experience reading and interpreting blueprints to identify proper paint areas and colors.
  • Exceptional knowledge of all preparatory work, paint and priming sequences and procedures.
  • Great interpersonal and communication skills.
  • High attention to detail, precision, and accuracy.
  • Prior experience with Axalta paints considered an asset.
