Lead Construction Miner Supervisor

Primary Responsibilities:

  • The Construction Supervisor is responsible for directing and overseeing the work of construction crews, ensuring that all activities are executed in accordance with established procedures and safety regulations. Key tasks include:
    • Implementing directives from site management
    • Maintaining daily logs and documentation
    • Providing job-specific safety instructions to all crew members
    • Ensuring proper training for equipment operation
    • Coordinating with the Safety Coordinator for necessary training
    • Assisting in work scheduling and monitoring site conditions
    • Ensuring equipment is well-maintained and scheduling repairs as needed
    • Completing incident reports and progress documentation
    • Promoting a safe work environment by adhering to safety regulations
    • Conducting pre-shift safety meetings
    • Inspecting work areas to confirm safety and compliance with design specifications
    • Assigning tasks to crew members and tracking their progress
    • Reporting daily, weekly, and monthly production metrics to management
    • Utilizing various mining and construction equipment effectively
    • Performing installations and maintenance as required
    • Completing additional duties as assigned

General Duties:

  • Complying with company policies and local regulations
  • Maintaining a safe and efficient work environment
  • Actively participating in safety programs
  • Identifying and reporting unsafe equipment
  • Collaborating with team members to achieve operational goals
  • Ensuring adherence to work standards and procedures
  • Maintaining cleanliness and organization in the workplace
  • Utilizing safety management systems effectively

Qualifications:

  • Successful completion of pre-employment drug, alcohol, and medical tests
  • Criminal Record Check (if applicable)
  • Completion of Supervisory Common Core training
  • Completion of Basic Underground Common Core training
  • A minimum of 4 years of experience in a supervisory role within construction
  • CWB certification is an asset

Skills and Competencies:

  • Knowledge of WHMIS and safety protocols
  • Fall Arrest and Working at Heights training
  • First Aid Certification
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • High level of integrity and work ethic
  • Self-motivated and able to work collaboratively
  • Effective multitasking and prioritization abilities
