About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Ethnic Food Cook to join our team at Prem Sweets and Restaurant in Gillingham. As an Ethnic Food Cook, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking a variety of dishes, including special meals for patients and customers with food allergies or intolerances.

Key Responsibilities
  • Menu Planning and Preparation: Plan menus and estimate food requirements for special events and daily operations.
  • Cooking and Food Preparation: Prepare and cook complete meals or individual dishes and foods, including special meals for patients and customers with food allergies or intolerances.
  • Kitchen Management: Inspect kitchens and food service areas, maintain inventory and records of food, supplies, and equipment, and supervise kitchen staff and helpers.
  • Supply Chain Management: Order supplies and equipment, and requisition food and kitchen supplies.
  • Staff Training and Development: Train staff in preparation, cooking, and handling of food.
Requirements
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • Experience: 1 to less than 7 months of experience in a similar role.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to stand for extended periods, handle heavy loads, and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Language: English language proficiency.
