Job Summary:

Brandt is seeking a skilled and experienced Leadhand to join our team in Edmonton. As a key member of our Service Department, you will be responsible for coordinating and directing the workload of our technicians to ensure maximum efficiency and productivity.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the assignment of jobs and work areas to Service Department employees based on their skill and knowledge.
  • Participate in the appraisal of repair orders and review them for accuracy and completeness.
  • Direct and assist technicians and apprentices in the diagnosis of machine problems.
  • Inspect and repair special tools and recommend new tooling as required.
  • Advise the Shop Foreman or Service Manager of customer complaints.
  • Assist in coordinating and conducting quarterly safety meetings.
  • May fill the Shop Foreman's role in their absence.
  • May arrange for and participate in the reconditioning of used equipment and setup of new equipment.
  • May approve the release of equipment for delivery to customers.
  • May provide performance feedback for service technicians and staff to the Service Manager.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years' experience as a heavy duty service technician.
  • Journeyman certificate required.
  • Class 1 driver's license considered an asset.
  • Forklift license preferred.
  • Ability to work multiple shift patterns.
  • Ability to lead others.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to use standard desktop applications.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
