Job Summary

A.K. Landscaping Services Ltd. is seeking a skilled Landscaping Supervisor to join our team. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for overseeing the maintenance and construction of outdoor spaces.

Key Responsibilities
  • Hiring and Supervision: Recruit, train, and supervise a team of grounds maintenance staff to ensure efficient and high-quality work.
  • Grounds Maintenance Planning: Develop and implement plans for grounds maintenance, including scheduling and resource allocation.
  • Labour and Materials Estimation: Plan and estimate labour and materials required for projects, ensuring timely and cost-effective completion.
  • Construction Management: Oversee the construction of decks, walls, and other landscape features, ensuring compliance with safety standards and quality expectations.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of work completed, including logs and reports.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Ensure the proper maintenance and repair of equipment to prevent downtime and ensure efficient operations.
  • Supply Chain Management: Requisition and order materials, equipment, and supplies as needed to support operations.
  • Problem Solving: Identify and resolve work-related problems, providing technical advice and guidance to team members.
Work Environment

This is a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines, requiring a high level of physical fitness and attention to detail. The successful candidate will be able to work in a combination of sitting, standing, and walking environments, with regular standing for extended periods.

Requirements
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • Experience: 7 months to less than 1 year of experience in a related field.
  • Personal Suitability: Initiative, judgement, and a team player attitude are essential for success in this role.
Work Conditions

This is a permanent, full-time position with a 35-hour workweek. The successful candidate will be required to work in a physically demanding environment with a large workload.
