Job Summary

Holland Bloorview Kids Rehabilitation Hospital is seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Clinical Care Assistant to join our team as an Enhanced Extern. This is an exciting opportunity for a student in a healthcare-related field to gain hands-on experience in a dynamic and supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide safe and effective care to clients and families under the supervision of a Registered Nurse or Registered Practical Nurse.
  • Support the development of client independence in self-care, productivity, and recreation/leisure participation.
  • Assist clients in working towards their identified program goals under the direction of a nurse or clinician.
  • Provide direct care to clients and families in both onsite hospital and offsite community settings.
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team and community providers to ensure delivery of efficient and effective healthcare.
  • Participate in quality improvement activities to maintain a safe and healthy work environment.
Qualifications
  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor of Science Nursing program or equivalent.
  • Basic Life Support (BCLS) certification.
  • Experience in clinical placements or working with children and youth.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Completion of mandatory certifications, including Fit Test, WHMIS, AODA, and IPAC.
