Job Summary

The Workplace Incident Investigator plays a crucial role in maintaining a fair and respectful work environment by thoroughly and impartially investigating complaints or concerns related to workplace behavior, ethics, or policies. This position is responsible for collecting all relevant evidence and documentation, making recommendations, and determining whether the matter warrants formal discipline in accordance with the employer's formal disciplinary procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct impartial and thorough investigations into workplace complaints, including allegations of abuse, neglect, or undignified treatment.
  • Interview relevant parties, collect and analyze evidence, and ensure confidentiality throughout the investigative process.
  • Collaborate with management teams to assess findings and recommend appropriate actions to resolve issues and prevent future incidents.
  • Stay updated on employment laws and regulations to ensure investigations align with legal requirements and best practices.
  • Prepare clear and comprehensive investigative reports, detailing findings, conclusions, and recommendations for resolutions.
  • Provide guidance to management on proactive measures to maintain a positive and inclusive work environment.
  • Conduct training sessions on workplace policies, ethics, and prevention of inappropriate behaviors.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Law, or a related field, or a combination of education and experience.
  • Education and/or Certification in Workplace Investigations is an asset.
  • Working knowledge and experience in restoring workplace relationships following a workplace investigation.
  • Trauma-Informed Interviewing skills.
  • Proven experience in workplace investigations, demonstrating a strong understanding of employment laws.
  • Familiarity with HR policies and procedures.
Working Conditions
