Junior Counsel Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Junior Counsel to join our legal team at Smiles First Corporation. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing expert legal advice and support on a wide range of commercial law matters.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts, including non-disclosure agreements, service agreements, and vendor contracts.
  • Conduct thorough legal research and provide recommendations on regulatory and compliance matters.
  • Ensure the company's policies and procedures comply with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Support in maintaining corporate records, including board minutes, filings, and other necessary documentation.
  • Identify legal risks and provide practical solutions to minimize them.
  • Provide day-to-day legal advice to various departments within the company, including HR, procurement, and operations.
  • Assist in preparing and delivering training sessions for staff on legal matters such as compliance, contracts, and intellectual property.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor of Laws (LLB) or Juris Doctor (JD) degree.
  • ~1-3 years of post-qualification experience in a legal role, preferably in-house or with a law firm.
  • ~ Licensed to practice law.
  • Strong knowledge of contract law and corporate governance.
  • Excellent legal research and drafting skills.
  • Attention to detail and ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Experience in a dental industry preferred.
  • Familiarity with employment law, intellectual property law, or data privacy regulations.
  • Strong interest in developing in-house legal skills in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
