Key Responsibilities:
In this position, you will engage in various clerical functions that are vital to the smooth operation of the patient care unit, including:
  • Prioritizing, processing, coordinating, and documenting physicians' orders;
  • Serving as a communication hub for the unit;
  • Scheduling and coordinating patient appointments;
  • Compiling and maintaining patient records, entering data, and transcribing information into systems such as MARS, Kardex, Careplan, and electronic health records;
  • Performing clerical tasks such as data entry, filing, preparing reports, and managing supply levels;
  • Maintaining accurate timekeeping records for staff and submitting data to payroll;
  • Monitoring patient call signals and relaying messages to appropriate personnel.

  • Proof of Grade 12 completion
  • A current Typing Test demonstrating 40 wpm or greater, completed within the last 48 months from an accredited institution
  • A Nursing Unit Clerk Certificate
