We are seeking a highly skilled Laboratory Analyst to join our team at EMSL Analytical, Inc. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in life sciences and experience with laboratory procedures.
Responsibilities- Conduct laboratory tests and analyses to determine asbestos content in bulk, air, water, and soil samples.
- Determine visual percentage and optical properties of asbestos and non-asbestos materials.
- Record data accurately and maintain quality control procedures.
- Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting of laboratory equipment.
- Collaborate with colleagues to achieve team goals and objectives.
- Bachelor's degree in a life science field, such as geology, microbiology, biology, environmental science, or chemistry.
- Experience with light microscopy and optical mineralogy/petrographic microscopes is a plus.
- Previous laboratory experience, either in an academic or commercial setting, is highly desirable.
- Ability to distinguish colors and work independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication, computer, typing, and organizational skills.
