Job SummaryWe are seeking an experienced Linux Security Engineer to join our Security Hardening team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing and implementing secure solutions for Ubuntu and its users. You will work closely with our team to develop and maintain security hardening benchmarks, audit and remediation automation, and collaborate with external partners to test and validate kernel and crypto module components.
Key Responsibilities- Design and implement secure solutions for Ubuntu and its users
- Develop and maintain security hardening benchmarks
- Audit and remediation automation
- Collaborate with external partners to test and validate kernel and crypto module components
- Contribute to Ubuntu mainline and upstream projects
- Communicate and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders
- Hands-on experience with low-level Linux cryptography APIs and debugging
- Excellent software engineering fundamentals, including prior experience with C development
- Hands-on experience with Linux system administration and shell scripting
- Demonstrated knowledge of security and cryptography fundamentals
- Excellent verbal and written communications
- Experience working directly with Linux Kernel
- Prior experience with Python, OVAL, and Ansible
- History of contributions to open-source projects
- Distributed work environment with twice-yearly team sprints in person
