Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Drywall Installation Specialist to join our team at Build It Back. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in drywall installation and finishing, ensuring high-quality workmanship in various settings.

Qualifications
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • Experience: 1 to 2 years in drywall installation and finishing
Work Environment
  • Work at heights
  • Exposure to dusty, hot, and noisy conditions
  • Outdoor and indoor settings
  • Various locations including commercial, residential, and rural areas
Key Responsibilities
  • Apply multiple coats of joint compound and sand seams and joints for a smooth finish
  • Level and smooth plaster coats to achieve desired surfaces
  • Prepare and clean surfaces prior to installation
  • Install metal corner beads to protect edges
  • Fill joints and imperfections with joint compound using appropriate tools
  • Finish corners and angles, creating decorative designs as needed
  • Measure, cut, and install drywall sheets accurately
  • Mix plaster to the correct consistency for application
  • Secure drywall sheets to metal or wooden frameworks
  • Ensure excess compound is smoothed out and allowed to dry properly
  • Utilize taping machines for joint treatment
  • Install vapor barriers and insulation for thermal and sound control
  • Prepare layouts for walls and ceilings
  • Employ laser alignment systems for precision
  • Work safely at heights using scaffolding or swing stages
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to bend, crouch, and kneel
  • Capable of handling heavy materials
  • Willingness to perform physically demanding tasks
  • Comfortable with repetitive movements and walking
