The Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre is seeking a skilled and compassionate Patient Care Coordinator to join our team. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting the efficient operation of our unit/area.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist healthcare professionals with the provision of patient care, ensuring the highest level of quality and compassion.
- Contribute to the smooth operation of the unit/area, maintaining a safe and organized environment for patients and staff.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement effective care plans, prioritizing patient needs and preferences.
- Provide emotional support and comfort to patients and their families, promoting a positive and respectful care environment.
- Participate in ongoing education and training to enhance your skills and knowledge, staying up-to-date with best practices in patient care.
Requirements:
- Completed a recognized program for personal support worker or equivalent experience.
- Current Basic Rescuer Certificate in Basic Cardiac Life Support or willingness to obtain within 3 months of hiring.
- Member of the Ontario Personal Support Worker Association (OPSWA) and/or Personal Support Network of Ontario (PSNO) an asset.
- Previous patient care experience in a healthcare environment or health-related community work, preferred.

- Able to discern relevant information to make effective judgments and decisions to manage care.
- Great Customer Service skills, with a focus on patient satisfaction and experience.
- Take Initiative to identify and address patient needs, promoting a proactive and responsive care environment.

- Outstanding Communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
- Demonstrates excellent written and verbal English skills, with the ability to communicate complex information in a clear and concise manner.
- Ability to speak a second language, an asset.
- Able to prioritize and organize assigned tasks, managing multiple responsibilities with ease and efficiency.
- Able to learn new tasks quickly, adapting to changing priorities and patient needs.
- Functions as an integral member of the healthcare team, contributing to a positive and supportive work environment.
- Basic Computer skills, with the ability to navigate electronic medical records and other healthcare systems.
