The OpportunityWe are seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to fill the role of Caretaker II. This position is responsible for providing maintenance and caretaking services for our campus facilities, ensuring a safe and clean environment for students, staff, and the public.
Key Responsibilities:- Perform a variety of caretaking tasks, including cleaning, maintenance, and repairs of campus facilities.
- Operate equipment such as floor scrubbers, carpet cleaners, and auto scrubbers to maintain a high level of cleanliness and hygiene.
- Identify and address hazards in the workplace and report any maintenance issues to the facilities team.
- Assist with facility set-ups and events across campus.
- Perform seasonal work such as snow removal and cleaning of residence rooms and townhouses.
- Act as a pest-control officer as required.
- Assist with maintenance and repairs of college vehicles.
- Be available on-call for emergency situations.
- Maintain a courteous rapport with fellow workers and clients.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Valid driver's license required.
- Minimum of six months related work experience in maintenance and caretaking.
- Knowledge of standard cleaning procedures and methods.
- Ability to climb stairs and ladders, lift up to 50 lbs, and be on your feet for extended periods.
- Knowledge of various cleaning supplies and chemicals an asset.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to demonstrate reasoning and decision-making skills.
- Ability to manage time and stress effectively.
- Ability to demonstrate accuracy and attention to detail.
- Current Criminal Reference check required.
- Must respect and actively promote health and safety policies.
