Job Summary

The incumbent participates as an active member of the treatment team, carrying out specific therapeutic and rehabilitative interventions with patients based on recovery/treatment plans developed following the Psychosocial Rehabilitation model.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provides patients with supervision and guidance, assistance with personal care, comfort, and support in going about daily living, therapeutic, and recreational activities in a safe manner.
  • Experience providing care and support to persons with disabilities is preferred.
  • Minimum Grade 10 education, Manitoba standards, is required.
  • Successful completion of a recognized Health Care Aide course is preferred.
  • Excellent command of the English language (both oral and written) is required.
  • Preference will be given to those applicants competent in an Aboriginal language and/or knowledge in Aboriginal customs, traditions, and values.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize assigned workload.
  • Ability to recognize and pursue self-development opportunities.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to respond to a variety of simultaneous demands.
  • Ability to perform as a team member and seek assistance as necessary.
Physical Requirements
  • Position involves extensive physical activity such as lifting, transferring, and transporting patients and equipment.
