Our Faculty of Behavioral Sciences is currently seeking to fill course openings for the upcoming term. We are looking for Sessional/Part-Time Professors to instruct within our Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology (MACP) program, specifically for practicum and skills-based courses that include online synchronous elements. Comprehensive orientation and training will be provided prior to the assignment of teaching responsibilities.

With a completed doctoral degree in Counseling, Psychology, or a related discipline from an accredited institution, along with registration or certification from a relevant professional regulatory body in your province, and a minimum of five years of experience in Counseling Psychology or a related field, you will be responsible for delivering graduate-level courses. You will incorporate the latest research and methodologies in Canadian counseling and psychology, while demonstrating a commitment to equality, diversity, inclusion, and decolonization and their implications for the field and pedagogy.

This position offers remote work opportunities utilizing an online delivery platform.

Applications must include a current Clinical License and an Official Transcript from the Doctorate institution.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Delivering and facilitating courses in counseling psychology theory and practical skills
  • Supporting student success through continuous guidance and mentorship
  • Managing online discussions and learning activities via the designated platform
  • Providing timely evaluations and constructive feedback on student assessments
  • Addressing student inquiries and concerns effectively
  • Collaborating with Practicum Supervisors to complete evaluations
  • Facilitating online synchronous learning activities aligned with the curriculum
  • Handling administrative responsibilities related to the course
  • Contributing to strategic program development and engaging in ongoing professional growth
Required Qualifications:
  • A conferred Doctorate degree in counseling, psychology, psychotherapy, or a related field
  • At least 5 years of professional experience in counseling, psychology, psychotherapy, or a related discipline
  • Active clinical practice registration or certification with a relevant professional regulatory body in your province
  • Experience teaching at the graduate level is highly desirable
  • Familiarity with online delivery platforms is a significant advantage
  • Exceptional communication skills in English, both written and verbal
