Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Laborer to join our team at Drax Group. As a Laborer, you will play a critical role in supporting the efficient operation of our pellet production systems by performing a variety of construction, repair, installation, and maintenance activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform a range of construction, repair, installation, and maintenance activities to support Drax's pellet production systems.
  • Operate various equipment and tools related to maintenance and rail activities, as well as perform related duties as assigned.
  • Ensure the highest level of safety standards, adhering to all applicable government regulations and corporate policies.
  • Participate in cleaning tasks on a daily, weekly, or monthly schedule, or as assigned by the Plant Manager or their designate.
  • Assist in safely and efficiently loading rail cars and assist in loading pellets, completing necessary administrative tasks for shipping pelletized pellets.
  • Participate in continuous improvement and quality control initiatives.
  • Operate mobile equipment as assigned.
  • Report safety incidents and infractions.
  • Assist maintenance staff or complete basic maintenance tasks when the plant is down, alone or under the direction of maintenance staff.

Requirements

  • Experience in heavy industry.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to operate mobile equipment safely and efficiently.
