Position Overview

An exceptional opportunity is available within the Government of Northwest Territories. In this role, you will operate autonomously, delivering comprehensive assessments regarding the validity of applications for legal assistance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide critical legal advice and opinions that significantly influence clients and their families.
  • Manage increasingly complex cases involving custody, child support, and child protection issues, including care agreements and extensive permanent wardship proceedings.
Qualifications

To excel in this position, candidates must possess:

  • A Juris Doctor degree and eligibility for membership in the NWT Bar.
  • A minimum of five years of experience as legal counsel in family law.
  • Experience in a legal aid clinic setting, along with the ability to supervise other legal professionals and support personnel.
