About the Role

Tetra Tech is seeking an experienced Contaminated Site Specialist to join our Environment and Water Practice in Calgary, Edmonton, or Lethbridge. This temporary position will provide coverage for an employee on leave, with the possibility to transition into a permanent role.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide technical guidance and support to junior contaminated sites staff.
  • Lead or coordinate project management of AB projects.
  • Design, manage, and conduct environmental site assessment and remediation programs.
  • Develop and implement remediation and risk management strategies for various sites across Alberta.
  • Manage projects according to approved scope of work and deliver quality reports on schedule and within budget.
  • Deliver top-quality technical proposals for environmental engineering projects.
  • Contribute to ongoing project management best practice implementation.
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to support the delivery of top-quality technical work on projects.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in an environmental discipline or environmentally-related engineering discipline.
  • Professional registration as P.Eng., P.Geo., or P.Ag. in Alberta.
  • Minimum of 6 years of relevant technical experience, with preference given to individuals with consulting experience.
  • Experience with contaminated sites assessment and remediation in Alberta.
  • Current knowledge of AB environmental regulations, including the Alberta Tier 1 and 2 Soil and Groundwater Remediation Guidelines, and Environmental for Alberta Surface Waters.
  • Experience with a variety of sites, including residential to industrial, and upstream/downstream petroleum.
  • Experience mentoring and directing staff to execute work to high technical quality standards.
  • Leadership skills and experience, with a desire to train, mentor, and develop junior staff within the team.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and ability to build long-term, successful professional relationships with colleagues and clients.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, teamwork, problem-solving, leadership, and mentorship skills.
  • Several years of experience establishing and maintaining client relationships.
  • Contributing to identifying and securing new business opportunities and marketing activities.
  • Developing and maintaining a presence as a practice leader in the industry through participation in professional and sector organizations.
  • Some travel required in this position.
