Job Title: Field Mechanic

Are you a skilled mechanic looking for a challenging role in a dynamic industry? We have an exciting opportunity for a Field Mechanic to join our team at United Rentals of Canada, Inc.

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Field Mechanic to perform maintenance and repairs of complex equipment on customer-owned equipment. As a Field Mechanic, you will work independently, using your expertise to diagnose and repair a wide range of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on customer-owned equipment, including complex mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
  • Travel to customer job sites to perform repairs and maintenance, ensuring timely and efficient service.
  • Assist in the training of lower-level technicians as needed.
  • Maintain accurate records of work performed, including documentation of repairs and maintenance.
  • Upsell and demonstrate complex equipment to customers, providing exceptional customer service.
  • Assist with the delivery and pickup of equipment and parts.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • 5+ years of experience repairing and maintaining equipment and tools.
  • Advanced mechanical aptitude and working knowledge of tools.
  • Knowledge of construction equipment and strong mechanical background knowledge of various engines.
  • Advanced understanding of schematics and diagrams.
  • Must own tools applicable to the position.
  • Superior customer service, teamwork, and verbal/written communication skills.
  • Ability to frequently lift items up to 45 lbs.
