Job Title: Early Childhood Educator

We are seeking a qualified Early Childhood Educator to join our team at Shkoday Abinojiiwak Obimiwedoon. As an Early Childhood Educator, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care and education to children in our childcare centre.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for creating a safe and nurturing environment that promotes the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children. You will work closely with our team to develop and implement child-care programs that meet the unique needs of each child.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assess children's development and create individualized learning plans
  • Provide care and supervision to infants and toddlers, including bathing, diapering, and feeding
  • Develop and implement child-care programs that promote physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development
  • Lead activities such as storytelling, teaching songs, and taking children on outings
  • Order supplies and equipment as needed
  • Assist in maintaining accurate records and reports
  • Encourage children to express creativity through art, dramatic play, music, and physical activity
  • Supervise and coordinate activities of other early childhood educators and assistants
Requirements:
  • College diploma or equivalent in Early Childhood Education
  • Experience working with children, preferably in a childcare setting
  • Knowledge of licensing regulations and standards
  • Ability to establish and maintain collaborative relationships with colleagues and community service providers
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • First Aid and CPR certification
Working Conditions:

This is a temporary position, working 35 hours per week. The successful candidate will be required to work in a non-smoking, air-conditioned environment. A valid driver's licence and own transportation are assets.
