Machining and Tooling Inspector Job Description

Gould Fasteners Limited is seeking a skilled Machining and Tooling Inspector to join our team. As a key member of our quality control team, you will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and precision of our machined parts.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Compute dimensions and tolerances of machine parts to ensure conformance to specifications
  • Measure and lay out work pieces in preparation for assembly, using precision measuring instruments such as micrometers and calipers
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, charts, and tables to understand design requirements
  • Maintain, repair, and calibrate precision measuring instruments to ensure accuracy
  • Document and report deviations from specifications and tolerances, maintaining accurate inspection records and completing inspection reports
  • Verify dimensions of parts machined using precise measuring instruments, and verify dimensions of products for accuracy and conformance to specifications
Work Environment:

This is a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines, requiring the ability to work independently and efficiently. The successful candidate will be physically demanding, standing for extended periods, and will be required to wear steel-toed safety boots.

Requirements:
  • College/CEGEP education
  • 2 years to less than 3 years of experience in a related field
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
