About the Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled Occupational Therapist to join our team at Nova Scotia Health and IWK Health. As a member of our multidisciplinary healthcare team, you will provide consultation, assessment, treatment, and follow-up services to clients in the occupational performance areas of self-care, productivity, and leisure.

The successful candidate will work under the direction of the Program Manager to facilitate, restore, and/or maintain clients' optimal level of function. This will involve providing intervention to address clients' occupational performance components, including physical, cognitive, and affective aspects.

You will also provide education and support to clients, families, and caregivers, and function as a member of a multidisciplinary hospital and/or community healthcare team.

The Occupational Therapist may be required to provide services throughout the Rehabilitation and Supportive Care Services portfolio.

About You

We are looking for a candidate with the following qualifications:

  • Graduate of a C.A.O.T recognized School of Occupational Therapy
  • Registered with the College of Occupational Therapists of Nova Scotia (COTNS)
  • BCLS certification
  • Demonstrated effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong communication, creativity, problem-solving, and organizational skills
  • Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred

Hours and Compensation

This is a permanent, full-time position with 75 hours bi-weekly. The successful candidate will work shifts over a 6-day per week schedule.

The hourly rate for this position is $42.89.
