About the Role

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Bookkeeper to join our team at Edwin S.W. Kong & Company Inc. As a Bookkeeper, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate and up-to-date financial records, preparing financial statements, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Financial Record-Keeping
    • Accurately record and reconcile financial transactions
    • Maintain general ledgers and financial statements
    • Prepare trial balance of books
  • Payroll and Benefits
    • Calculate and prepare cheques for payroll
    • Ensure accurate and timely payment of employee benefits
  • Financial Reporting
    • Prepare financial reports and statements for management
    • Provide financial analysis and recommendations to management
  • Compliance and Risk Management
    • Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements
    • Identify and mitigate financial risks
Requirements
  • Education
    • College/CEGEP diploma in Accounting or related field
  • Experience
    • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in bookkeeping or accounting
  • Skills
    • Proficient in MS Excel, QuickBooks, and Sage Accounting Software
    • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
    • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Work Environment

This is a permanent, full-time position working 30 hours per week in an urban area. Public transportation is available.
