About the RoleMityBilt is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Procurement Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our procurement department, you will be responsible for coordinating and managing the procurement of materials, to ensure efficient and timely production processes.
Key Responsibilities- Purchasing:
- Source and purchase raw materials, components, and supplies needed for production.
- Evaluate and select suppliers based on price, quality, and delivery performance.
- Negotiate contracts and terms with suppliers to achieve cost savings and reliable supply.
- Inventory Management:
- Monitor inventory levels to ensure sufficient stock without overstocking.
- Implement inventory control procedures to minimize waste and obsolescence.
- Conduct regular inventory audits and reconcile discrepancies.
- Supplier Relationship Management:
- Maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials.
- Address any issues or discrepancies with orders, deliveries, and invoices.
- Assess supplier performance and develop improvement plans as needed.
- Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in purchasing, production scheduling, or a similar role in a manufacturing or production environment.
- Skills:
- Strong understanding of supply chain and production processes.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Proficiency in inventory management and production scheduling software.
- Effective negotiation and communication skills.
- Ability to analyze data and make informed decisions.
- Problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Primarily office-based with regular visits to production areas and occasional travel to supplier sites.
- Fast-paced environment with tight deadlines and the need to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
- On-time delivery of materials and supplies.
- Accuracy of production schedules.
- Inventory turnover rate.
- Supplier performance metrics.
- Production efficiency and output rates.
- Certification in supply chain management or production and inventory management (e.g., APICS CPIM or CSCP) is a plus.
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and practices is desirable.
