About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Butcher Shop Assistant to join our team at African Foodways Market Ltd. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting in the preparation and processing of meats for sale in our butcher shop.

Key Responsibilities
  • Cleaning and Preparing Meats: Clean and prepare meats to prepare for processing or cutting, ensuring high-quality standards are met.
  • Cutting and Trimming Meats: Cut carcasses, sides, and quarters, as well as cut, trim, and prepare standard cuts of meat.
  • Wrapping and Packaging: Wrap and package prepared meats for sale, ensuring they are presented in an attractive and appealing manner.
  • Weighing and Pricing: Weigh meats for sale and price meat products accurately and efficiently.
  • Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service, selling meats to customers and responding to their queries and needs.
  • Inventory Management: Assist in managing inventory levels, ensuring that stock is maintained at optimal levels.
  • Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with other team members to achieve sales targets and maintain a clean and safe working environment.
Requirements
  • Experience: Experience in a butcher shop or meat processing environment is an asset.
  • Language: Fluency in English is required.
  • Work Hours: 30-40 hours per week.
