How you will make a differenceUnderwriting:
- Adhere to the best practices and underwriting standards within Cyber Risk Management.
- Generate new business by collaborating with your broker network to identify fresh opportunities.
- Deliver operational excellence to our brokers and clients through a consistent, timely, and proactive underwriting approach.
- Participate in client and broker events as necessary.
Financial Oversight/Sales & Distribution:
- Contribute to the budgeting process on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
- Support the team in achieving Cyber Risk Management budget and profitability objectives by implementing an effective underwriting strategy.
- Assist in cultivating and expanding a pipeline of new business opportunities.
- Collaborate with major brokers to establish a strategic pipelining system.
- Partner with our distribution allies to secure favorable outcomes in both new business and renewals.
Team Leadership:
- Lead an underwriting team to achieve profitable underwriting outcomes.
- Mentor and develop staff through effective leadership, role modeling, and training initiatives.
- Foster a team culture that emphasizes collaboration, inclusivity, and continuous learning.
- Support each team member's development to facilitate personal growth, succession planning, and career advancement, while creating personal development plans and engaging in on-the-job training to enhance underwriting and negotiation skills for junior members.
- A minimum of 7 years of experience in underwriting within Cyber Risk Management.
- Previous management experience is considered an asset.
- Demonstrated ability to convey challenging messages while influencing positive outcomes.
- Strong time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks for yourself and others.
- Proven networking and relationship-building capabilities.
- Organized, highly motivated self-starter who takes ownership of their performance and exhibits leadership in their work, training, and knowledge acquisition.
- General understanding of human behavior, its complexities, and effective management strategies.
- Relevant designations such as CIP/FCIP/CRM are considered advantageous.
