Actuarial Analyst for Commercial Lines

The Commercial Lines Auto Ratemaking and Business Solutions team at Desjardins is seeking a dedicated professional to fill the role of Advisor, Actuarial Analysis and Statistics. In this position, you will engage in stimulating projects that are essential for the operational success of our organization.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Perform comprehensive studies and analyses to inform rate levels, segmentation, and business-focused initiatives. Provide actionable recommendations based on your findings.
  • Utilize a range of tools and techniques to devise solutions for actuarial and business challenges. Collaborate closely with various business units and underwriting teams to implement effective strategies.
  • Establish policies and guidelines through thorough research and impact assessments.
  • Assist in the planning, development, execution, and coordination of projects.

Your Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in actuarial science, mathematics, statistics, or a related discipline.
  • A minimum of four years of relevant professional experience.
  • Successful completion of several CAS exams is preferred.
  • Proficiency in French is required for roles based in Quebec.
  • Advanced English skills are necessary due to the nature of the role and interactions with English-speaking stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with P&C insurance, Microsoft Office Suite, SAS, Radar, Emblem, VBA, and R is advantageous but not mandatory.
