Job Title: Pharmacist

About the Role:

Lakeridge Health is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Pharmacist to join our team. As a Pharmacist, you will play a vital role in meeting the medication-related needs of patients, resolving and preventing drug-related problems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct patient care and work collaboratively with the healthcare team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
  • Participate in patient education and medication reconciliation activities to promote safe and effective medication use.
  • Teach students and provide education to nursing and medical staff to enhance their knowledge and skills.
  • Support the drug distribution system and ensure the safe and efficient dispensing of medications.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Current registration in good standing with the Ontario College of Pharmacists in Part A of the register.
  • Practical knowledge of pharmacology, current best practice clinical guidelines, and ability to interpret lab values.
  • Strong clinical assessment skills in identifying and solving drug-related problems.
  • Excellent medication counseling skills and ability to communicate effectively with patients and healthcare teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively within an interprofessional team and exercise independent judgment.
  • Previous hospital experience desired, but not required.
