The Infrastructure Advisory team plays a crucial role in guiding governmental and corporate entities through the complexities of capital project delivery. As a member of our team, you will lend your expertise to clients in areas such as project design, delivery strategies, and capital program enhancement, ensuring successful outcomes even in challenging circumstances and budget constraints. Your work will span various sectors, providing support throughout the entire project lifecycle, from feasibility studies and governance to procurement, construction readiness, and operational implementation.
Your Responsibilities
In your role as a Manager, you will serve as an integral part of both public and private sector project teams, overseeing the development and execution of intricate projects or investments. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Leading the creation of financial reports, business cases, and analyses related to various procurement methodologies.
- Coordinating proposal preparations for multiple projects simultaneously.
- Supervising the development and assessment of complex financial models.
- Facilitating stakeholder engagement and community consultation to define project objectives and requirements.
- Contributing to strategic planning, funding, and financial structuring for capital and infrastructure initiatives.
- Engaging in large-scale procurements, including the formulation and evaluation of procurement documents.
- Advising clients on best practices for managing capital and infrastructure projects and assisting in the implementation of these strategies.
- Conducting business case analyses, growth planning, needs assessments, and procurement option evaluations.
- Providing financial analysis and strategic funding recommendations.
- Performing benchmarking and market research to identify best practices.
- Conducting due diligence and detailed analyses to develop comprehensive strategies and business plans supporting client investments.
- Utilizing your exceptional writing skills to produce reports for a variety of assignments.
- Contributing to successful proposals and participating in impactful client presentations.
Qualifications
- A university degree in Architecture, Engineering, Business Administration, Commerce, Finance, or a related field, complemented by relevant practical experience.
- An MBA or Master’s degree in a pertinent discipline is advantageous.
- Professional certifications such as CAPM/PMP are considered assets.
- Experience with LEAN/Six Sigma methodologies is beneficial.
- Possession of Government of Canada security screening reliability status or higher is preferred.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar advisory capacity, consulting for public and private sector clients.
- A well-rounded consulting skill set, including strong presentation abilities, stakeholder engagement, business case development, and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and writing skills, with the ability to distill complex information effectively.
- Proven technical and analytical skills, particularly in financial analysis and modeling, especially with project finance discounted cash flow models.
- Familiarity with various project delivery methodologies (e.g., DBB, DB, CM, PDB, P3) and procurement processes.
- A proactive attitude and eagerness to learn about all facets of the infrastructure sector swiftly.
- Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment while managing multiple projects concurrently.
- Strong financial analytical capabilities, along with an understanding of capital asset development and financial information.
- Exceptional verbal and presentation skills, with the ability to interpret and compile information effectively.
- Outstanding writing skills, with a talent for creating concise summaries, reports, and recommendations that deliver significant value to clients.
- A positive demeanor and the ability to foster strong relationships with clients, colleagues, and industry experts.
- A high level of critical thinking and problem-solving skills is essential.
