Catalyst Changers Inc., a leading provider of catalyst handling services, is seeking a highly skilled Inert Entry Rescue Specialist to join our team. As a Stronghold Company, we pride ourselves on our strong safety culture and pioneering ethos.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform critical vessel and tower supervision on the top deck while providing maintenance services to refineries and petrochemical facilities.
- Conduct day-to-day activities in client facilities, including inert and non-inert confined space entry, and perform work towards project goals of Safety, Quality, Productivity, and Service.
- Ensure Health and Safety is the number one priority and adhere to all applicable company, customer, and legislative codes, regulations, practices, and procedures.
- Promote a positive safety culture through company values and maintain professionalism throughout all business dealings.
- Properly clean and maintain Life Support Equipment and immediately report any damage to Console Operator.
- Be familiar and competent in rigging and signalman procedures, and be familiar with Nitrogen Back Pressure Test.
- Complete all required paperwork/documentation, including inspection reports and timesheets, and submit to appropriate personnel daily.
- Operate, understand, and calibrate gas detection equipment used by Corporate.
- Perform and direct the rig up/rig down of all life support, vacuum, conveyer, and loading equipment at the top deck.
- Meet requirements as the High Angle Rescue Team Leader and be responsible for the safety of all entry personnel during vessel entry.
- Maintain proper housekeeping on the vessel top deck in a safe and effective manner, and manage proper use of all equipment.
- Properly perform donning/lock down and inspection of PPE and Lock on Life Support system or other respiratory equipment as required prior to and after entry.
- Maintain constant communication with all personnel, Ground Foreman, and Console Operator during entry, and supervise all vessel activities.
- Ensure proper permitting requirements are met, establish and manage lock out/tag out, verification, and blind list instructions.
- Actively participate in health and safety meetings, safety communication, planning, and hazard assessments.
- Maintain a current Inert Entry Rescue Specialist certification and meet all aspects of the VET position requirements.
- Work as part of a team with Clients, Co-workers, and Supervisors.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in the Inert Entry Rescue Specialist position.
- Minimum class 5 driver's license with a clean driver's abstract.
- Exceptional customer service and communication skills.
- Safety-focused attitude with experience working in an industrial setting.
- Possesses cleanliness and organizational skills.
- Must be in good health and physical condition to perform duties assigned.
- Must have the ability to enter confined spaces and wear a respirator and breathing air helmet.
- Must have the ability to lift at least 50 lbs.
- Mechanical aptitude.
- Willing and able to travel for extended periods and the ability to work 10-12-hour shifts (including nights, weekends, and out of town).
- Ability to access Client sites which may require clearance of a drug and alcohol screen.
